Mr. Cozad was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2000 and focuses his practice in workers’ compensation defense. He has also practiced on the other side of the aisle, representing Claimant’s in their workers’ compensation cases, and believes this experience assists him in understanding strategies utilized by Claimants’ counsels. Mr. Cozad is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, and is a retired City of Miami Police Sergeant. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from Barry University, and his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2000. He has practiced in the areas of foreclosure law representing both lenders and borrowers, and has also practiced in the family law arena, handled child support enforcement cases while working for the Department of Revenue, litigated matters as Assistant General Counsel with the Department of Environmental Protection, and was of counsel with a management company negotiating matters involving charter school law. Mr. Cozad’s various areas of experience have helped him become a better strategist, negotiator, and litigator for the benefit of his clients.
