Mrs. Yanes concentrates her practice in the area of workers’ compensation defense where her clients include insurance carriers, employers, uninsured employers and self-insured funds. She has litigated in jurisdictions throughout the State of Florida for multiple insurance carriers and employers.
Mrs. Yanes was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2008 and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association as well as the Workers Compensation Division. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 2004, cum laude, and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2008, cum laude.
While attending law school, Mrs. Yanes argued and prepared two appellate cases before the Third District Court of Appeal; one ultimately reaching the United States Supreme Court in the matter of Florida v. Jardines, 133 S. Ct., 1409 (2013).
She is registered by the State of Florida as a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Instructor and has lectured at the Workers’ Compensation Convention, WCCP Claims Management Conference, Florida RIMS Educational Conference, The Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Forum and the Workers’ Compensation Academy. Mrs. Yanes is a founding member and Bencher of The Richard A. Sicking American Inn of Court and serves on their Executive Board as the current Vice President/President Elect. She is also a Mentor as part of The Florida Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section’s Emerging Leaders Committee Mentor Program. Mrs. Yanes has also served as the Chair for the Planning and Zoning Board for the Town of Miami Lakes.
